I have SO much to be thankful for!!!! I am down in Raleigh, NC this Thanksgiving with my husband's side of the family. We are having our Thanksgiving meal around 5:00 pm today. It will be a great time filled with lots of good food and good memories. We all bring something to dinner to help. I brought the pies...my traditional Pumpkin Pie and I tried something new. Derby Pie. This pie is from a place that I used to work at when in High School and College. I hadn't made it since college, but thought it'd be fun to bring the old recipe out again. I will be sharing both recipes soon! I also made my Mom's traditional and oh so GOOD
pumpkin bread. This is always a hit! If any is left over I love it with some peanut butter....yummm. :)
Besides the good food and being with family, one of my other favorite parts about Thanksgiving is watching the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade. Ever since a small child, I have loved getting up in the mornings to watch the parade in my pj's. My parents would cook us a yummy breakfast and we could have hot chocolate in the mornings and watch this. Such a great tradition. :) I hope that you and yours have a very special and Happy Thanksgiving. Count your blessings!
A little something to think about:
I'm off to watch the parade! What are you favorite things to do on this holiday?
